Hi Jared,
This was really entertaining and surprisingly deep.
Title: The Reaction
Series: Animorphs; Book 12
Author: K. A. Applegate
Genre: Science Fiction
Audience: Youth
ROTS Setting: CU, Modern, Aliens
Synopsis: Rachel’s got some pretty strange stuff happening. She can’t control her morphing. One minute, she’s doing homework. The next, she’s morphing a full-grown crocodile, and — without returning to human form — she becomes an elephant. That’s when the floor gives way and Rachel finds herself looking up at what used to be the kitchen ceiling.
Recommendation: Highly recommend this series.
Rachel always makes a good read. She’s a bad ass but still real underneath it all and that’s what this book focuses on. How you can be scared, all the time, and still do what needs to be done.
The plot was likely the weakest aspect of the book, there were several points of extreme convenience but that’s not unusual for this series and genre. There’s also some interesting implications to how morphing works.
In summary, it was another good book in the series.
Robert
