Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere Universe Movies?

I’m too excited about this to not write something about this. It’s really early to be so excited but I can’t help it.

According to Variety, DMG Entertainment has purchased the license and movie rights to Brandon Sanderson’s entire Cosmere Universe. The Way of Kings, Book 1 of the Stormlight Archives, is supposedly being fast tracked with The Final Empire, Book 1 of the Mistborn Trilogy, hot on its heels. If I’ve learned anything about movies, it’s not out until it’s out. Rights are frequently sold but rarely does anything come of it. I’m excited but I won’t be holding my breath.

I’ve got another one down. Don’t know how much of an accomplishment it is but I did it. Really these books are an easy read and fairly entertaining too. Now I just need to wait for the next one to finish being processed.

With book 5, The Dark Talent, coming out this past week I’ve been trying to get through the previous books I hadn’t read yet. That would be this one, The Knights of Crystallia, and The Shattered Lens. I made sure to get on the hold list for book 5, and should get one of the first few copies but I don’t know how long it will take to get them into circulation. My last experience was about 3 weeks but this is the new system that is much larger and hopefully more efficient.

Oh boy do I want to read more Mistborn now! It’s actually kind of painful. This little novella filled in so many holes and answered so many questions……but now I feel so ignorant of the larger universe. I guess I’ll just have to read more Sanderson novels. Woe is me.

I’ve been eyeing this book ever since finishing Elantris. Finding it in the digital library systems was impossible so I’d either have to pay out or suffer…..I’ll suffer no more! This is a great novella and well worth it.

Hello Robert,

I just got my first library card in about 7 years. Aside from college IDs which give access to school libraries. The Edmonton Public Library system is quite impressive to he honest. They have 3D printer maker spaces, sound studios, and tons of events and classes all for free. Honestly going to the library is way cooler than it used to be. Aside from the evil librarians though.

Synopsis: This morality tale follows a younger brother Dennison Crestmar, who lives his life as all younger brothers due. In the unbearable shadow of his older brother the Silvermane the war hero Varion Crestmar.
Recommendation:
This actually isn’t a book it is more of a short story I read it in like an hour and a half. There isn’t too explicit of content. You only get a description of like two deaths. Any 4th grader should be able to this with reasonable ease.

So why did I pick this book? Well Deathweavers arrived without me knowing so I never picked it up and it was then promptly returned. So I need to put a hold on it again. I blame the librarians. Of the books left on my shelf…..this one didn’t have any more renews left….and it’s an easy read.
